Motivations and Intentionality in the Arts Portfolio Career

Many artists find themselves in the role of an entrepreneur and small business owner as they manage multiple overlapping jobs while engaging a portfolio career. This research investigates how visual performing construct meaningful careers if career model minimizes risk. The findings reveal that majority respondents view less secure than full-time job, but also prefer A significant amount their time is spent on creative activity teaching. Artistic fulfillment, pay, commitment are primary factors consider when selecting work.
